For its second cleaning session of the year (the 1st session took place on 27 April), the Vauban port received the help of about fifteen volunteer professionals, in addition to its operating teams. Thus, the clean-up operation targeted at the floating failure zone mobilized a team of professionnals (Fire brigade of Antibs, Gendarmes, members of SARL Sobral, YDGS and Port Vauban). Ashore, some twenty volunteers and members of associations, “recruited” from the SNSM, SRA, Ecotank, Lou Bateou, Lou Denti, Fonds Bleu and the volunteer staff of the Port Vauban helped the divers to bring the waste ashore.

The clean-up took place in the Fort Carré basin on Thursday, November 7, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The results of this operation were conclusive since 2 tons of waste were collected, including a bicycle, a TV, telephones, bottles…

For reasons related to operational constraints and safety conditions, the Vauban port has decided to gradually open up this type of environmental and societal action, initially by involving port professionals and association members. In future editions, this dynamic will be extended to boaters, the public and antibois who would like to participate and should cover an increasing number of areas in the port.
